The District bought its first commercially built fire truck in 1961 for a price of $19,000.00. This truck was in service until approximately 1993. The District presently has six engines, five pumper/tenders, one tender, four brush trucks, four ambulances, two rescue/aid cars, two command vehicles, and three support vehicles.
In the late 1970’s District 1 began responding to calls for medical aid within the District. In 1989, the District became involved in water rescue in the surf along the ocean beach. In 1998, the District began providing ambulance transport service in the North end of the District. In 2003, the District began providing medical service to all of South Pacific County.
