Pacific County Fire District 1 has an average of 25 volunteers who are actively involved in service to the citizens of our District. Volunteers are an integral part of the service provided by Pacific County Fire District 1 and are a valuable asset to the community. Pre-membership Requirements
- Volunteers must live or work within a reasonable response time to any District station.
- Complete the application process.
- Provide a copy of valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance.
- Pass a drug screen
- Sign a waiver giving authorization to conduct a criminal background check and a driving record check.
- Pass a medical physical, provided at Fire District 1 expense.
- Complete an informal interview and orientation.
Membership Requirements
- All new volunteers will serve a probationary period of one year.
- Volunteer members must participate in a minimum of 9 drills each quarter. Any member who is unable to meet the minimum training requirements due to conflicts in work schedules, etc., shall make arrangements to participate in other training activities approved by the Training Officer.
- Drills are held Monday nights from 1900-2100 at Station 21-2 in Seaview, and on Wednesday nights from 1900-2100 at Station 21-1 in Ocean Park
Equipment
Protective gear and other equipment will be distributed to new volunteers upon successful completion of an informal interview and orientation.
Driving Apparatus
The ability to drive District equipment requires successful completion of required Emergency Vehicle Accident Prevention (EVAP) training, and the approval of the Fire Chief. Drivers must be 21 years of age to drive District equipment while responding to emergency calls.
